You sit down to study. Your textbook is open. Your notes are ready. Then your phone buzzes. You check the notification - just a quick glance. You respond to a message, scroll through a feed for thirty seconds, and go back to studying. Five minutes later, it happens again. And again.
At the end of two hours, you have been "studying" the entire time. But you have learned a fraction of what you would have in a focused session half that length. This is not a discipline problem. It is a cognitive architecture problem, and the research is clear about what is happening in your brain.
Your Brain Cannot Actually Multitask

Create a Consistent Study Environment

If you study with music, keep it instrumental, keep the volume low, and keep it familiar. Novel or attention-grabbing music becomes another competing task for your brain.
